Our Story
Our story begins with Lee’s sister, Lacey. Andrea met Lacey at the gym, where Steve (Lacey’s partner) was her coach. Andrea quickly became part of the crew that hung out on weekends and became the “Tini” we know today. Lee visited New York a few times a year, and on one trip, he and Andrea met and became friends.
While not officially dating Andrea was quickly brought into the family. Over the next few years, during ski trips to Colorado, Lee and Andrea grew closer.
In 2020, during the holidays, they traveled to Colorado to celebrate Lacey and Steve’s new home. During that trip they spent so much time on the slopes together, it was hard to deny that a romance was budding. On the last ski day, Lee’s sister-in-law Leslie convinced the group to head to Denver early, giving Lee and Andrea extra time alone on the beautiful slopes of Vail. For five hours, they talked about family, skiing, music, food, and life. By the end of the trip, they both knew they wanted to see each other more than just on ski trips.
So they decided to give dating a shot! Andrea was living in NYC, and Lee was in Kansas City with Bentley, his black lab. They did long-distance for 1.5 years, visiting every two weeks and sharing “virtual date nights” on Sundays—taking turns choosing recipes to cook together over FaceTime.
Eventually, they moved to Denver to finally be in the same city. They explored their new home, spent time in the mountains, and began building their life together. A year later, they bought a house and welcomed Cooper, their Bernese Mountain Dog.
With help from friends—and a few trips to the jeweler—Lee found the perfect engagement ring. One sunny February day, he secretly picked it up and hid it in his nightstand until the time was right.
A snowy March day at Vail became the perfect moment. Lee convinced Andrea to call out of work and enjoy the spring powder where their story began. They were in one of their favorite spots on the mountain, and the sun had just come out. Lee insisted that it would be a good time to stop near the trees and have a snack and hot cocoa (with a little schnapps). They took off their skis and Lee told Andrea to get the snacks out of his backpack. When Andrea turned around Lee was on one knee.
Forever ski buddies.
We are beyond excited to bring our families together and celebrate with all of you in the mountains that we fell in love and show you around the city that we love.
